Individual Kicking Records

If there is one thing Wheaton football teams are *not* known for — it’s their kickers. But any year the Warriors have someone capable of kicking a PAT or short field goal, it sure was fun to watch! For a long time, Peter Naatz was the undisputed best kicker in Wheaton history. Over the years, there were a couple foreign exchange students who knew the preferred soccer-style field goal kicking technique. However, Ryan Kellen shattered PAT records as a straight-ahead, kick with the toe, lineman kicker. Then, during a stretch of great offensive seasons, Mark Gail broke Kellen’s PAT record. Jay Nelson is now probably Wheaton’s strongest kicker and holds the record for kicking points and longest field goal (almost breaking the Prep Bowl record regardless of school size.) And Clint Determan has a legitimate shot at the current marks.
